Share of population using internet reached 13.0 % in 2016 in Tanzania, according to World Bank. This is 30 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, share of population using internet in Tanzania reached an all time high of 13.0 % in 2016 and an all time low of 0.117 % in 2000. When compared to Tanzania's main peers, share of population using internet in Kenya amounted to 16.6 %, 17.5 % in Mozambique, 21.9 % in Uganda and 25.5 % in Zambia in 2016.
