State Bank of India's capital adequacy ratio reached 12.8% at the end of 2018, up from 12.7% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 14.2% in 2008 and an all time low of 11.9% in 2005.

The Tier 1 ratio amounted to 10.8% at the end of 2018, up from 10.5% compared to a year earlier.

Bank's loan to deposit ratio reached 76.1% at the end of 2018, up from 72.5% when compared to the previous year. Some 10 years ago, loan to deposit ratio of the bank amounted to 76.0%.
