Tata Motors - Price To Book Value

Tata Group had a market value of over USD 18 bil at the end of 2002, up from only USD 1.4 bil at the end of 2008 when the Company made a record loss of INR 22 bil. Tata stock has ben trading at around 12 times its earnings in the last decade and three times its book value.

The Company has been paying roughly a quarter of its profits on dividends implying a yield of around 2% in 2003-2012
