Taxes on Goods and Services (As % of Revenue) fell to 37.2% in Peru in 2016

Taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue reached 37.2 % in 2016 in Peru, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 2.92 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue in Peru reached an all time high of 55.4 % in 1985 and an all time low of 32.7 % in 1972. When compared to Peru's main peers, taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue in Brazil amounted to 19.0 %, 49.7 % in Chile and 24.2 % in Colombia in 2016.

Peru has been ranked 42nd within the group of 112 countries we follow in terms of taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue, 2 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.

Taxes on goods and services include general sales and turnover or value added taxes, selective excises on goods, selective taxes on services, taxes on the use of goods or property, taxes on the extraction and production of minerals, and profits of fiscal monopolies.
