Taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue reached 29.5 % in 2016 in Rwanda, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 12.3 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue in Rwanda reached an all time high of 30.0 % in 2012 and an all time low of 23.4 % in 1991. When compared to Rwanda's main peers, taxes on goods and services as a share of revenue in Tanzania amounted to 44.1 % and 47.2 % in Uganda in 2016.
