Historically, total coal consumption in Belgium reached an all time high of 22,450 kt in 1982 and an all time low of 4,573 kt in 2015. When compared to Belgium's main peers, total coal consumption in France amounted to 15,045 kt, 262,922 kt in Germany, 80.5 kt in Luxembourg and 19,883 kt in Netherlands in 2015.
