In 2010, Toyota was the world's largest automobile manufacturer by production and the ninth largest company in the world by revenue. Toyota Motor Corporation group companies are Toyota (including the Scion brand), Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino Motors, along with several "non-automotive" companies.

In 2012, the Company produced and sold 8.9 mil of passenger cars, up 45% compared to a decade ago. While only a half of total Toyota Group vehicles are produced in Japan now, three quarters are already exported (compared to 56% seen in 2002).
