Based on a comparison of 28 banks in Bulgaria in 2017, UniCredit Bulbank was the largest deposit taker, followed by DSK Bank and First Investment Bank.
UniCredit Bulbank's customer deposits reached BGN 15,513 mil, up from BGN 14,838 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of BGN 15,513 mil in 2017 and an all time low of BGN 1,721 mil in 2000.
Comparing UniCredit Bulbank with its closest peers, DSK Bank's deposits amounted to BGN 10,254 mil at the end of 2017, First Investment Bank operated with BGN 7,584 mil of customer deposits and Eurobank Bulgaria had clients' deposits of BGN 6,080 mil at the end of 2017.
Bulgarian banks had customer deposits of CZK 76.5 bil in 2017, up 5.94% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - UniCredit Bulbank accounted for 20.3% of the sector’s deposits in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 43.6% share while the five largest firms some 59.2% in 2017.
