Based on a comparison of 23 banks in Croatia in 2017, Zagrebacka Banka was the largest lender, followed by Privredna Banka Zagreb and Erste & Steiermarkische Bank.

Zagrebacka Banka loans reached HRK 77,217 mil, down 4.37% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of HRK 84,340 mil in 2015 and an all time low of HRK 14,598 mil in 2000.

Comparing Zagrebacka Banka with its closest peers, Privredna Banka Zagreb customer loans amounted to HRK 64,900 mil, Erste & Steiermarkische Bank operated with HRK 43,297 mil loans and Raiffeisenbank Croatia had a loan portfolio of HRK 17,745 mil.

Croatian banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 213 bil in 2017, down 0.828% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Zagrebacka Banka accounted for 36.3% of the sector’s loans in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 87.1% share while the five largest firms some 102% in 2017.
