Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Czechia in 3Q2017, CSOB was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Komercni Banka and Ceska Sporitelna.
CSOB's mortgage loans reached CZK 277,100 mil, up 2.55% when compared to the previous quarter and up 10.8% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of CZK 277,100 mil in 3Q2017 and an all time low of CZK 39,100 mil in 4Q2005.
At the end of 3Q2017, mortgage loans represented 47.4% of CSOB's loan book.
When compared to the nearest peers, Komercni Banka's mortgage loans amounted to CZK 258,000 mil at the end of 3Q2017, Ceska Sporitelna operated with CZK 227,200 mil mortgage loans and CSOB Stavebni Sporitelna had a mortgage loan book of CZK 114,334 mil at the end of 3Q2017.
Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,125 bil in 3Q2017, up 9.31% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - CSOB accounted for 24.6% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 3Q2017. The top 3 companies hold a 67.8% share while the five largest firms some 86.3% in 3Q2017.
