What Banks in Czechia Were the Largest Mortgage Lenders in 3Q2018?

Based on a comparison of 17 banks in Czechia in 3Q2018, CSOB was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Ceska Sporitelna and Komercni Banka.

CSOB's mortgage loans reached CZK 411,700 mil, up 1.50% when compared to the previous quarter and up 48.6% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of CZK 411,700 mil in 3Q2018 and an all time low of CZK 39,100 mil in 4Q2005.

At the end of 3Q2018, mortgage loans represented 60.4% of CSOB's loan book.

When compared to the nearest peers, Ceska Sporitelna's mortgage loans amounted to CZK 252,500 mil at the end of 3Q2018, Komercni Banka operated with CZK 223,100 mil mortgage loans and CSOB Stavebni Sporitelna had a mortgage loan book of CZK 114,197 mil at the end of 3Q2018.

Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,218 bil in 3Q2018, up 8.30% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - CSOB accounted for 33.8% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 3Q2018. The top 3 companies hold a 72.8% share while the five largest firms some 90.4% in 3Q2018.
