Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 4Q2017, Bank Handlowy operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Bank Ochrony Srodowiska and Bank Millennium.
Bank Handlowy's loan to deposit ratio reached 55.6% at the end of 4Q2017, down from 55.9% when compared to the previous quarter and up from 50.6% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 127% in 2Q2002 and an all time low of 41.6% in 1Q2007.
When compared to the nearest peers, Bank Ochrony Srodowiska ended the year 4Q2017 with loans to deposits at 79.8%, Bank Millennium with 82.8% and ING Bank Slaski some 83.5% of loans to deposits at the end of 4Q2017.
Overall, total loans of the Polish banking sector amounted to 74.0% of deposits at the end of 4Q2017.
