Based on a comparison of 16 banks in Poland in 2017, PKO BP was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP's mortgage loans reached PLN 108,163 mil, down from PLN 108,322 mil compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of PLN 108,322 mil in 2016 and an all time low of PLN 9,150 mil in 2002.

At the end of 2017, mortgage loans represented 52.8% of PKO BP's loan book.

Comparing PKO BP with its closest peers, Pekao's mortgage loans amounted to PLN 50,446 mil at the end of 2017, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 37,293 mil mortgage loans and mBank had a mortgage loan book of PLN 32,593 mil at the end of 2017.

Polish banking sector provided mortgage loans of PLN 1,148 mil in 2017, up 9.00% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 9.42% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 2017. The top 3 companies hold a 17.1% share while the five largest firms some 22.4% in 2017.
