What Banks in Romania Generated the Most Revenues in 2016?

Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Romania in 2016, Banca Transilvania generated the largest revenues, followed by Banca Commerciala Romana and Raiffeisen Bank Romania.

Banca Transilvania reported total revenues of RON 3,186 mil, up 3.91% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of RON 3,186 mil in 2016 and an all time low of RON 19.1 mil in 1997. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to RON 2,418 mil.

Bank's total revenues accounted for 6.13% of total assets in 2016, up from 6.44% a year earlier.

Comparing Banca Transilvania with its closest peers, Banca Commerciala Romana generated total revenues of RON 2,868 mil, or 4.25% of assets in 2016, Raiffeisen Bank Romania operated with RON 2,172 mil total income, or 6.49% revenue margin and UniCredit Tiriac Bank produced total income worth RON 1,664 mil, or 4.42% of assets.
