Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Romania in 2016, CEC Bank operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Banca Transilvania and BRD Groupe Societe Generale.

CEC Bank's loan to deposit ratio reached 61.1% at the end of 2016, up from 57.1% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 61.1% in 2016 and an all time low of 50.9% in 2013.

Comparing CEC Bank with its closest peers, Banca Transilvania ended the year 2016 with loans to deposits at 63.7%, BRD Groupe Societe Generale with 66.0% and Banca Commerciala Romana some 66.9% of loans to deposits at the end of 2016.

Overall, total loans of the Romanian banking sector amounted to 80.3% of deposits at the end of 2016.
