Based on a comparison of 7 banks in Romania in 2017, Banca Transilvania operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Banca Commerciala Romana and BRD Groupe Societe Generale.

Banca Transilvania's loan to deposit ratio reached 61.8% at the end of 2017, down from 65.3% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 90.0% in 2008 and an all time low of 58.1% in 2014.

When compared to the nearest peers, Banca Commerciala Romana ended the year 2017 with loans to deposits at 63.8%, BRD Groupe Societe Generale with 67.0% and Raiffeisen Bank Romania some 74.6% of loans to deposits at the end of 2017.
