Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Romania in 2016, Banca Transilvania was the most cost efficient bank, followed by UniCredit Tiriac Bank and BRD Groupe Societe Generale.

Banca Transilvania's cost to income ratio reached 42.5% in 2016, down from 49.0% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s costs reached an all time high of 75.4% in 2006 and an all time low of 42.5% in 2016.
