Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Serbia in 2016, Bank Intesa Serbia was the largest deposit taker, followed by Komercijalna Banka Beograd and Raiffeisenbank Serbia.
Bank Intesa Serbia's customer deposits reached RSD 383,453 mil, up from RSD 331,332 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of RSD 383,453 mil in 2016 and an all time low of RSD 22,583 mil in 2002.
Comparing Bank Intesa Serbia with its closest peers, Komercijalna Banka Beograd's deposits amounted to RSD 322,621 mil at the end of 2016, Raiffeisenbank Serbia operated with RSD 191,661 mil of customer deposits and UniCredit Bank Serbia had clients' deposits of RSD 178,232 mil at the end of 2016.
Serbian banks had customer deposits of CZK 2,038 bil in 2016, up 11.4% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Bank Intesa Serbia accounted for 18.8% of the sector’s deposits in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 44.1% share while the five largest firms some 59.8% in 2016.
