Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Serbia in 2016, UniCredit Bank Serbia was the most cost efficient bank, followed by AIK Banka and Bank Intesa Serbia.

UniCredit Bank Serbia's cost to income ratio reached 42.9% in 2016, down from 39.3% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s costs reached an all time high of 65.3% in 2005 and an all time low of 33.7% in 2011.

When compared to total assets, bank's cost amounted to 1.39% in 2016, down from 2.33% a year earlier.

Comparing UniCredit Bank Serbia with its closest peers, AIK Banka operated in 2016 with a cost to income ratio of 44.6%, Bank Intesa Serbia reached 47.8% and Raiffeisenbank Serbia some 56.7%.

The average cost to income ratio reached 61.9% in the Serbian banking sector in 2016.
