Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Serbia in 2017, AIK Banka was the most cost efficient bank, followed by OTP Bank Serbia and UniCredit Bank Serbia.

AIK Banka's cost to income ratio reached 24.6% in 2017, up from 44.6% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s costs reached an all time high of 44.6% in 2016 and an all time low of 21.3% in 2008.

When compared to total assets, bank's cost amounted to 1.39% in 2017, up from 2.22% a year earlier.

Comparing AIK Banka with its closest peers, OTP Bank Serbia operated in 2017 with a cost to income ratio of 37.3%, UniCredit Bank Serbia reached 43.2% and Bank Intesa Serbia some 46.5%.

The average cost to income ratio reached 57.4% in the Serbian banking sector in 2017.
