Historically, the bank’s net interest margin reached an all time high of 3.53% in 2001 and an all time low of 1.74% in 2013. The average margin in the last five years amounted to 2.44%.
Average asset yield was 3.26% in 2016, down from 3.74% when compared to previous year. On the other hand, cost of funding amounted to 0.680% in 2016, down from 0.984%.
Comparing Nova Ljubljanska banka with its closest peers, SKB Banka operated in 2016 with a net interest margin of 2.61% Abanka Group reached 2.11% and NKBM Group some 2.04%.
The average net interest margin reached 1.80% in the Slovenian banking sector in 2016 while interest spread amounted to 4.00%.
