Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2016, NKBM Group operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Abanka Group and Gorenjska Banka.

NKBM Group's loan to deposit ratio reached 54.2% at the end of 2016, down from 58.4% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 119% in 2008 and an all time low of 54.2% in 2016.

Comparing NKBM Group with its closest peers, Abanka Group ended the year 2016 with loans to deposits at 65.1%, Gorenjska Banka with 67.7% and Nova Ljubljanska banka some 74.1% of loans to deposits at the end of 2016.

Overall, total loans of the Slovenian banking sector amounted to 78.6% of deposits at the end of 2016.
