Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2017, Abanka Group was the best capitalised bank, followed by NKBM Group and Sberbank Slovenia.

Abanka Group's capital adequacy ratio reached 24.6%, down from 26.5% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 26.5% in 2016 and an all time low of 8.90% in 2006.

Comparing Abanka Group with its closest peers, NKBM Group ended the year 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 20.2%, Sberbank Slovenia with 19.0% and UniCredit Bank Slovenia some 18.0% at the end of 2017.
