Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Turkey in 2016, Ziraat Bank was the largest lender, followed by Isbank and Garanti Bank.
Ziraat Bank loans reached TRY 232,644 mil, up 24.5% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of TRY 232,644 mil in 2016 and an all time low of TRY 0.002 mil in 1961.
Comparing Ziraat Bank with its closest peers, Isbank customer loans amounted to TRY 230,003 mil, Garanti Bank operated with TRY 201,409 mil loans and Akbank had a loan portfolio of TRY 178,893 mil.
Turkish banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 1,832 bil in 2016, up 17.3% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Ziraat Bank accounted for 12.7% of the sector’s loans in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 36.2% share while the five largest firms some 55.8% in 2016.
