What Banks in Vietnam Paid its Staff the Most in 2019?

Based on a comparison of 14 banks in Vietnam in 2019, Vietcombank was paying its employees the best, followed by VietinBank and MBBank.

Vietcombank employed 18,945 persons in 2019, up 10.0% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 18,945 persons in 2019 and an all time low of 9,212 in 2008.

Average cost reached VND 38,130,200 per month per employee, 2.60% more than a year ago. This figure was VND 15,895,500 per month some 10 years ago.

Staff accounted for 53.6% of total operating expenditures in 2019.

Comparing Vietcombank with its closest peers, VietinBank had 24,105 employees with average cost of VND 32,833,900 per month per person, MBBank operated with 15,691 people (and VND 32,205,600 per month per employee) and Techcombank had 11,156 employees in 2019 with cost of VND 31,833,800 per month per head.
