Based on a comparison of 18 countries in 2017, Belgium ranked the highest in retail deposits as a share of GDP with 78.0% followed by Austria and Croatia. On the other end of the scale was Mexico with 22.0%, Hungary with 22.6% and Turkey with 29.7%.
