Based on a comparison of 154 countries in 2013, China ranked the highest in cocoa bean consumption with 4,922 kt followed by USA and Indonesia. On the other end of the scale was Central African Republic with 0.046 kt, Rwanda with 0.117 kt and Guinea Bissau with 0.119 kt.
Average cocoa bean consumption reached 4,491 kt in 2013 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.95 % more than in the previous year and 20.7 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, average cocoa bean consumption reached an all time high of 4,613 kt in 2011 and an all time low of 987 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 2.96 % since 1961.
