Based on a comparison of 37 countries in 2022, Albania ranked the highest in home ownership as a percentage of all dwellings with 96.3% followed by Romania and Slovakia. On the other end of the scale was Switzerland with 42.2%, Germany with 49.1% and Austria with 54.2%.
