Based on a comparison of 34 countries in 2014, United Kingdom ranked the highest in number of hotels with 40,272 hotels followed by Germany and Italy. On the other end of the scale was Liechtenstein with 40.0 hotels, Malta with 149 hotels and Macedonia with 225 hotels.
