Based on a comparison of 167 countries in 2016, India ranked the highest in number of pupils in primary education with 138,518 '000 followed by China and Indonesia. On the other end of the scale was Monaco with 1.96 '000, Liechtenstein with 1.98 '000 and Cayman Islands with 3.99 '000.
