Based on a comparison of 92 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in apple production with 40,923 kt followed by USA and Poland. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 0.039 kt, Honduras with 0.179 kt and Kenya with 0.606 kt.

Total apple production reached 76,771 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 5.28 % less than in the previous year and 18.5 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total apple production reached an all time high of 80,823 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 17,054 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 2.88 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 53.3 % of apple production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 64.2 % share while the ten largest countries some 82.4 % in 2014.
