Based on a comparison of 67 countries in 2018, Turkey ranked the highest in apricot production with 750 kt followed by Uzbekistan and Iran. On the other end of the scale was Bhutan with 0.024 kt, Malta with 0.035 kt and Zimbabwe with 0.046 kt.

Total apricot production reached 3,871 kt in 2018 in the World according to Faostat. This is 24.1 % less than in the previous year and 4.80 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total apricot production reached an all time high of 4,962 kt in 2016 and an all time low of 1,088 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 1.91 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Turkey, accounted for 19.4 % of apricot production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 41.0 % share while the ten largest countries some 69.8 % in 2018.
