Based on a comparison of 66 countries in 2021, Turkey ranked the highest in apricot production with 800 kt followed by Uzbekistan and Iran. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 0.010 kt, Bhutan with 0.041 kt and Zimbabwe with 0.045 kt.
Total apricot production reached 3,578 kt in 2021 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3.87 % less than in the previous year and -6.53 % less than 10 years ago.
Historically, total apricot production reached an all time high of 4,789 kt in 2017 and an all time low of 1,088 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 1.68 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Turkey, accounted for 22.4 % of apricot production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 43.3 % share while the ten largest countries some 69.4 % in 2021.
