Which Country Produces the Most Beans?

Based on a comparison of 121 countries in 2014, India ranked the highest in bean production with 4,020 kt followed by Myanmar and Brazil. On the other end of the scale was Puerto Rico with 0.026 kt, Estonia with 0.052 kt and Luxembourg with 0.070 kt.

Total bean production reached 23,235 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.91 % more than in the previous year and 22.5 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total bean production reached an all time high of 24,159 kt in 2010 and an all time low of 10,933 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 1.43 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, India, accounted for 17.3 % of bean production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 46.6 % share while the ten largest countries some 70.6 % in 2014.
