Based on a comparison of 21 countries in 2014, India ranked the highest in fresh buffalo milk production with 74,710 kt followed by Pakistan and China. On the other end of the scale was Albania with 0.003 kt, Brunei with 0.045 kt and Bhutan with 0.116 kt.

Total fresh buffalo milk production reached 97,387 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 17.7 % more than in the previous year and 21.1 % more than 10 years ago.
