Based on a comparison of 77 countries in 2018, Nigeria ranked the highest in cassava production with 59,475 kt followed by Thailand and Dem. Republic of the Congo. On the other end of the scale was Maldives with 0.004 kt, Seychelles with 0.234 kt and Mauritius with 0.681 kt.

Total cassava production reached 277,809 kt in 2018 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.538 % less than in the previous year and 17.2 % more than 10 years ago.
