Based on a comparison of 62 countries in 2018, Indonesia ranked the highest in coconut production with 18,555 kt followed by Philippines and India. On the other end of the scale was Singapore with 0.102 kt, Maldives with 0.225 kt and Brunei with 0.400 kt.

Total coconut production reached 61,865 kt in 2018 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.3 % more than in the previous year and 2.04 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total coconut production reached an all time high of 62,480 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 23,841 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 1.69 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Indonesia, accounted for 30.0 % of coconut production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 72.7 % share while the ten largest countries some 89.5 % in 2018.
