Based on a comparison of 66 countries in 2014, Indonesia ranked the highest in coconut production with 18,300 kt followed by Philippines and India. On the other end of the scale was Cayman Islands with 0.016 kt, Singapore with 0.130 kt and Brunei with 0.393 kt.
Total coconut production reached 60,511 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.4 % less than in the previous year and 9.05 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total coconut production reached an all time high of 62,140 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 23,841 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 1.77 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Indonesia, accounted for 30.2 % of coconut production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 72.8 % share while the ten largest countries some 90.4 % in 2014.
