Based on a comparison of 92 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in cottonseed oil production with 1,540,600 tonnes followed by India and Pakistan. On the other end of the scale was Uruguay with 1.00 tonnes, Romania with 2.00 tonnes and Poland with 2.00 tonnes.
Total cottonseed oil production reached 5,309,928 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3.42 % more than in the previous year and 19.2 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total cottonseed oil production reached an all time high of 5,432,885 tonnes in 2012 and an all time low of 2,196,761 tonnes in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 1.68 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, China, accounted for 29.0 % of cottonseed oil production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 61.0 % share while the ten largest countries some 83.3 % in 2014.
