Based on a comparison of 88 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in groundnut oil production with 2,028,450 tonnes followed by India and Nigeria. On the other end of the scale was Turkey with 9.60 tonnes, Albania with 16.0 tonnes and Paraguay with 174 tonnes.
Total groundnut oil production reached 5,353,602 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3.29 % more than in the previous year and 1.17 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total groundnut oil production reached an all time high of 5,732,424 tonnes in 2003 and an all time low of 2,511,630 tonnes in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 1.44 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, China, accounted for 37.9 % of groundnut oil production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 73.2 % share while the ten largest countries some 88.9 % in 2014.
