Based on a comparison of 11 countries in 2014, France ranked the highest in hempseed production with 84,097 tonnes followed by China and Chile. On the other end of the scale was Turkey with 1.00 tonnes, Spain with 1.00 tonnes and Poland with 35.0 tonnes.
Average hempseed production reached 75,017 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 9.63 % more than in the previous year and -19.5 % less than 10 years ago.
Historically, average hempseed production reached an all time high of 114,862 tonnes in 2007 and an all time low of 29,511 tonnes in 1992. The average annual growth amounted to -0.115 % since 1961.
