Based on a comparison of 104 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in pumpkin, squash and gourd production with 7,241 kt followed by India and Russia. On the other end of the scale was Djibouti with 0.016 kt, Cayman Islands with 0.046 kt and Papua New Guinea with 0.153 kt.
Total pumpkin, squash and gourd production reached 24,514 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.675 % less than in the previous year and 15.7 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total pumpkin, squash and gourd production reached an all time high of 24,684 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 5,585 kt in 1965. The average annual growth amounted to 2.49 % since 1961.
