Which Country Produces the Most Pumpkins?

Based on a comparison of 107 countries in 2022, China ranked the highest in pumpkin, squash and gourd production with 7,325 kt followed by Ukraine and Russia. On the other end of the scale was Djibouti with 0.017 kt, Belize with 0.083 kt and Papua New Guinea with 0.151 kt.

Total pumpkin, squash and gourd production reached 22,806 kt in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.21 % less than in the previous year and -4.91 % less than 10 years ago.

Historically, total pumpkin, squash and gourd production reached an all time high of 26,618 kt in 2017 and an all time low of 5,585 kt in 1965. The average annual growth amounted to 2.04 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 32.1 % of pumpkin, squash and gourd production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 41.5 % share while the ten largest countries some 63.8 % in 2022.
