Based on a comparison of 52 countries in 2014, Uzbekistan ranked the highest in quince production with 110,000 tonnes followed by China and Turkey. On the other end of the scale was Palestine with 18.0 tonnes, Egypt with 43.0 tonnes and France with 53.0 tonnes.
Total quince production reached 583,189 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 8.08 % less than in the previous year and 26.5 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total quince production reached an all time high of 630,325 tonnes in 2013 and an all time low of 266,771 tonnes in 1980. The average annual growth amounted to 1.27 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Uzbekistan, accounted for 18.9 % of quince production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 56.0 % share while the ten largest countries some 95.6 % in 2014.
