Which Country Produces the Most Rapeseed Oil?

Based on a comparison of 65 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in rapeseed oil production with 5,703 kt followed by Germany and Canada. On the other end of the scale was Kyrgyzstan with 0.030 kt, Colombia with 0.049 kt and Iceland with 0.050 kt.

Total rapeseed oil production reached 23,683 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 4.24 % less than in the previous year and 36.6 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total rapeseed oil production reached an all time high of 24,688 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 1,083 kt in 1964. The average annual growth amounted to 5.96 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 24.1 % of rapeseed oil production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 52.2 % share while the ten largest countries some 89.0 % in 2014.
