Based on a comparison of 63 countries in 2014, Canada ranked the highest in rapeseed production with 15,555 kt followed by China and India. On the other end of the scale was Taiwan with 0.013 kt, Tajikistan with 0.019 kt and Kyrgyzstan with 0.100 kt.
Total rapeseed production reached 63,641 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 14 % less than in the previous year and 26.9 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total rapeseed production reached an all time high of 72,533 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 3,397 kt in 1963. The average annual growth amounted to 5.57 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Canada, accounted for 24.4 % of rapeseed production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 60.0 % share while the ten largest countries some 99.4 % in 2014.
