Historically, total sugar cane production reached an all time high of 1,879,814 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 422,581 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 2.76 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Brazil, accounted for 39.9 % of sugar cane production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 65.7 % share while the ten largest countries some 83.4 % in 2014.
