Which Country Produces the Most Sunflower Oil?

Based on a comparison of 81 countries in 2014, Ukraine ranked the highest in sunflower oil production with 4,400 kt followed by Russia and Argentina. On the other end of the scale was Denmark with 0.014 kt, Namibia with 0.069 kt and Botswana with 0.098 kt.

Total sunflower oil production reached 14,105 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 10.7 % more than in the previous year and 30.0 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total sunflower oil production reached an all time high of 14,836 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 1,946 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 3.81 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Ukraine, accounted for 31.2 % of sunflower oil production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 66.6 % share while the ten largest countries some 91.4 % in 2014.
