Total tomato production reached 159,767 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.63 % less than in the previous year and 19.6 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total tomato production reached an all time high of 163,964 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 27,618 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 3.37 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, China, accounted for 32.9 % of tomato production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 53.7 % share while the ten largest countries some 81.6 % in 2014.
