Based on a comparison of 122 countries in 2015, China ranked the highest in wheat production with 120,057 kt followed by India and USA. On the other end of the scale was United Arab Emirates with 0.034 kt, Qatar with 0.041 kt and Venezuela with 0.417 kt.

Total wheat production reached 694,690 kt in 2015 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3.05 % more than in the previous year and 9.76 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total wheat production reached an all time high of 713,183 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 222,357 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 2.13 % since 1961.
