Based on a comparison of 10 banks among CEE Savings Banks in 2017, Sberbank had the most employees, followed by Erste Group Bank and OTP Group.

Sberbank employed 310,277 persons in 2017, down 4.55% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 330,677 persons in 2015 and an all time low of 199,857 in 2000.

Average cost reached 7,151 per month per employee, 18.2% more than a year ago. This figure was 3,743 some 10 years ago.

Comparing Sberbank with its closest peers, Erste Group Bank had 47,702 employees with average cost of 19,103 per person, OTP Group operated with 41,514 people (and 6,340 per employee) and PKO BP had 28,443 employees in 2017 with cost 28,443 per head.
