Based on a comparison of 11 banks among Raiffeisen New Europe in 2017, Raiffeisenbank Croatia had the highest share of bad loans, followed by Raiffeisen Bank Polska and Raiffeisen Bank Hungary.

Raiffeisenbank Croatia's non-performing loans reached 13.1% of total loans at the end of 2017, down from 19.9% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 19.9% in 2016 and an all time low of 1.92% in 2004.

Provision coverage amounted to 8.35% at the end of 2017, up from 7.88% compared to a year earlier.

Comparing Raiffeisenbank Croatia with its closest peers, Raiffeisen Bank Polska operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 8.35% and provision coverage of 66.4%, Raiffeisen Bank Hungary with 7.02% and 80.0% and Raiffeisen Bank Romania had 6.50% of bad loans covered with 57.6% by provisions at the end of 2017.
