The average age of each team across Europe’s top five leagues has been calculated by the CIES Football Observatory.

As reported at squawka.com, Tottenham Hotspur had the youngest average age in the Premier League in 2015/2016 at 24.70 years. Meanwhile, the oldest in the Premier League is Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion outfit, at 29.19.

Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo is working with a young squad at Valencia with their average age of 24.47, the lowest in La Liga.

Real Madrid and Barcelona occupy the seventh-highest and 13th-highest average ages in Spain respectively.

Fellow European giants Paris Saint-Germain boast a figure of 27.32 – the 14th-highest in Ligue 1.

Roger Schmidt’s Bayer Leverkusen have the lowest average age in the Bundesliga at 24.54.

Empoli are the youngest in Serie A (25.46), on the other hand, last season’s Italian tripple winners, Juventus, are towards the other end of the scale with an average age of 28.48.
